About the Institute of Nutrition Education and Research

o increase the understanding of physicians and other health professionals about the key role of nutrition in health and disease, Dr. Klaper and his colleagues in medicine and health education founded the non-profit Institute of Nutrition Education and Research in 1992.

Since then, the Institute has presented numerous accredited Continuing Education courses in the U.S. and Canada on the therapeutic uses of nutrition in medical practice. Information on the Institute educational programs be be obtained through the address below.

In 1996, Dr. Klaper and the Institute initiated the Vegan Health Study to document the effects of purely plant-based diets upon human health. Commencing in mid-1997, Dr. Klaper and the Institute's research team will began gathering information from thousands of volunteers whose diets are vegan, that is free of all animal products. The goal of this study is to help establish guidelines so that each person who elects to nourish themselves on a completely plant-based diet can do so safely, with maximal positive effects upon their health.
