Forgiveness
Forgiveness has taken on a whole new meaning since September 11, 2001. We hear people taking about bombing Afghanistan back to the next century. I forgive these people for their ignorance. They assign blame to the many innocent people that have tried their best to survive under the harsh rule of the Taliban. May we all have the strength to educate them.
To the people who continue to eat meat while closing their mind and saying "I don't want to know where it comes from!" May we all forgive them for their fear of understanding how they support cruelty with every hamburger and milkshake they consume. May we all have the strength to educate them.
To the people who keep a handgun in their home for "protection." May we forgive them for their ignorance in not knowing that most guns possessed by criminals are stolen from home break-ins. May we all have the strength to educate them.
To the rich men who plunder the earth in the quest for additional riches while ignoring their fellow creatures and mankind. May we forgive them for their shortsighted quest for wealth. May we have the strength to educate them on the value of a clean environment and the inner peace of helping the less fortunate.
To the person who pushes his views on others and who will not give up hope of converting the ones he loves to a healthy, compassionate way of eating and living. May you grant me forgiveness. May I have the strength to carry on.
