Second Nature
There are many kinds of sharing. You can share just about anything. To me, though, the best kind of sharing stems from love.
When I think of sharing, my parents are one of the first things to enter my mind. They decided to share their lives with my brother and me by adopting us, even though we weren't their biological children. Through thick and thin, they have been there for me, willing to make sacrifices to ensure that I have a good life. I believe that they instilled good values in me, and these values have led to my being vegan. In this day and age, being vegan is a refreshing way for me to live my life, rather than following the "me, me, me" mentality. I see veganism as sharing myself with all around me and giving all that I can to make this world a better place.
As life will have it, I now have the opportunity to do the same as my parents did and share my life with my boyfriend's sons. Even though they are not my own, I find it a wonderful opportunity to be able to have them in my life. They share a lot of themselves with me as well. I am able once again to see the world through a child's eyes and experience the wonder and awe that goes along with it. My boyfriend and I are also able to share experiences with them together, which makes our relationship even stronger. However, what means the most to me is that they share their love with me. There is nothing better than knowing that I will be able to be a part of watching them grow and develop. I look forward to sharing our lifetimes with each other. After all, love is the best thing you can share.
