Every year in November, I get reunited with my fellow vegmate from Ohio. It is an enriching time for both of us. Not only do we discuss the events of the past year in detail, we also share our love of the new veg foods we have discovered. Since I have lived in London for eleven years, I always bring some culinary delights back with me to the states to charm my friend's palate. It works the other way around too. I enjoy checking out the new veggie sections in the grocery stores to pick out the necessary ingredients that are needed for the latest recipes I have found and want to try.
It is a real gift to be surrounded by good food and family and friends. Even while we live so far apart, they live very close in my heart. Through eating a purely veggie diet, I am tuned into nature and can hear the messages loud and clear. I also have learned that no matter where we roam in this world, where ours thoughts are, so are we. I like knowing that I am always connected in a spiritual sense to my loved ones. However, it is nice to nourish the physical senses to keep life balanced and to make more memories to add to my lifetime of reunions.
