After reading my blog (see link below) about the prostate cancer victim who regretted his radiation treatment, another victim (Brian) sent me an email that revealed his regret about his treatment and his frustration with our overall system.
Mr. Hicks, I read your article about this and concur with the subject of your article. I just finished radiation treatment for prostate and hate/regret it also. We don't get enough guidance from doctors and basically they just sell whatever they do. I was able to step around all the various land mines until one got me after the rosy sales pitch and fear mongering.
There are so many of us suffering quality of life issues following the barbaric methods of treating this cancer...The best hope we are given is the band aid approach and often times the band aid doesn't work. We should be given choices and we should be allowed to determine if we are willing to accept any risk.
No question .... Just a challenge!
Start helping us get this need addressed so those of us suffering can rejoin the human race. I am only 52 years old with side effects a 52 year-old does not want and was led to believe would't happen.
