Are you really saying that a group of 30 9 year olds are the best teachers for a 9 year old to learn social graces? My kids are learning how to deal with society from adults; parents, family, and strangers on a day to day basis. I am sorry that you felt forced to read Shakespeare. Did it ever occur to you that if you had been unschooled you might have decided to read them on your own? Especially if no one had ever told you that they would be "boring" or "old fashioned" ? Without the peer pressure of what is and is not "acceptable" for a child, children often find they like things they never would have if what they liked were left up to their peers.
