Subject:	Unschooling High School.... I DON'T GET IT!!!!....

We have homeschooled for 10+ years and have gradually become
unschoolers -- " I think?!?!?".... But my kids (14yrs & 15yrs) don't have any
motivation on their own (except surf the internet, listen to audio CDs, text
message friends and a few other fragmented activities).... We have a HOUSE
FULL of books, CD's, Educational DVDs, books on tape, interesting curriculum
....Rosetta Stone, TRISMS, Around the World in 180 Days, Apologia Science -
including Microscope and disecting kit (that they "wanted soooo bad"),
MathUSee, Teaching Textbooks, IEW Writing Program, Notebooking Supplies,
Scrapbooking Supplies, Arts supplies, Music DVDs and books.... We have a
piano, organ, keyboard, drum set, guitar, swimming pool, large back yard,
computers, books, books and more books.... AND they want to just VEG.. (no
pun intended!) I'm even losing my inspiration and motivation.... We've tried to
incorporate every curriculum out there over the years and haven't finished
anything in the last few years. We like to read a loud together and try to do
that several evenings a week.... but any inspiration they get from that lasts
about an hour :)..... I love to learn and like to READ (my favorite past-time),
music, art and Spiritual Studies.... but I'm so frustrated with trying to motivate
them! There are days and days that I totally allow them to explore and
choose what they want to do AND they don't know what to do (my son even
says that he doesn't know WHAT HE WANTS to do) Both of my children have
expressed that they want to have an idea of what they need to do to "finish"
highschool... I have made lists, checklists, plans, outlines by the
HUNDREDS!!!! and they still just bog down and lose interest!! .... I can
MAKE/force them do whatever -- but I really want them to love learning and
develop their own talents and interests..... WHAT IS WRONG?!?!?! Any
comments and experience is appreciated!!!!
