This is the biggest question I've had. And the similar question of how this translates to the structure often imposed in most 'jobs'. I love everything about unschooling as it relates to while they are unschooled. I'm wondering about after. I'm wondering how many adults there are out there that were unschooled and how they adapted after leaving home, in post secondary and work situations. I'd really love to hear from the adults who were unschooled, not just their parents.

I've read the replies and they tie mostly to community/trade schools before University. And also about "plans" of what can be done. How about if they want to go directly to a large University? How about hearing from someone who is already in the process.

How do kids find the switch to very structured environment that may not be taught based on how they learn, heck lots of its not "taught" at all, it's presented, sometimes in a large lecture hall with 300 students.

At this point I'm not asking about 'subjects' or test scores or any of that (although that is important), I'm asking about the transition. Most of the information on unschooling I can find is during the process, focused at parents of younger children. I really need to see the big picture of what happens 'next'. We dont stop being parents when they become adults, but they will leave our home eventually.
