Ok here goes, long post!
We've pretty much unschooled my kids whole life, my daughter is 16 almost 17, my son 12. I'm feeling very scared right now and insecure. How do I graduate my daughter? I never kept records. If she does decide to go to collage how will she be accepted. My girlfriend is really scaring me too. She put her kids in a charter school and they say you HAVE to have credits or be in an acredited homeschool program or she won't get a decent job. That even 7-11 says the will only take kids with a diploma or GED. My daughter wants to "graduate". but I don't believe she would pass all the regular test they give. I hate grades! I hate the typical "school" mentality! It seems like it saps the personality out of our kids, they are more like clones. Why are so many kids doing so bad in school if the new way is so improved. There are many kids in my neighborhood that hate school. If they are passing kids just to get them out of the system how can those kids possibly get into a collage? WILL jobs accept homemade diplomas, do they even check on it? ANY help from all you lovely people would be sooooooo appreciated. I'm really loosing sleep over this. Sincerely, Helen
