He doesn't like to read, but doesn't mind if I read it to him. He also tolerates audio books. He is definitely an auditory learner, easily remembering almost everything he hears. I have read, re-read and took extensive notes (3 times!) on Marilyn Howshall's original Wisdom's Way book. We have implemented several of her ideas over the past three years, but I've not been able to "let go" completely. This year, I feel like God is revealing to me "why". I really feel like their dad is supposed to be in on this process and in fact needs to "bless it"...sort of a stamp-of-approval before we can completely "dive in", if that makes sense. I have also been dealing with convictions over the past 3 years about submitting, serving, and respecting my dh. I guess that's what probably needed to happen first. So.... I need some ideas, ladies. I have one suggestion so far from a friend who is just getting ready to try unschooling this year with 5 of her 7 kiddos.....The Unschooling Handbook. I don't really want a book that slams or compares homeschooling to public school, as our oldest son will be going this fall (a whole other ugly discussion that would bring me to tears once again, so NEVER MIND...LOL!!..Hint...it has to do w/ the whole submission, respect, hing :oD ). I'm just looking for a book that explains what unschooling is and why it's better than "school-at-home". Thanks a bunch! Blessings, Denise
