If you've been using a previous curricula you will need to give your teen space to discover themselves without interference. Once they are able to do that, they will take off!

Our 15yo son is currently in Civil Air Patrol (and doing awesome, right now he is flying!), volunteering at a wildlife refuge, and studying ornithology. He is currently working on his math and science skills. His goal is to start taking college CLEPs next summer (at 16), pursue a BS in wildlife biology and a masters soon after. We are encouraging him to stay at home, and work on his degree. We don't expect him to do anything but work towards his goal, which is to be finished with his master's by 21/22.

In case you think he is not the "usual"... he was my "lazy" uncooperative young boy. He's totally grown into who he is meant to be, and was unschooled from age 5.
