I sort of insist my dd reads at least one classical novel (right now, A Tale of Two Cities, which I am re-reading with her) and we are both sludging through the "Heart of Mathematics" book because it is interesting. A Tale of Two Cities covers history and some geography, at least. She has her own projects that include science, art, music, vocational studies, etcetera etcetera.
