Two of my kids are using Total Language Plus this year. They are in 7th grade and 5th grade. It is a great curriculum. My kids do well with it. The vocabulary is advanced I think. It does not cover grammar enough so you would need a grammar program. I have read many parents say they only do two books a year, we are doing 4 with no problem. I am using Shurley English Grammar and I love it. It does cover writing stucture as well. For a more indepth writing curriculum Excellence in Writing is great. It does not focus as much on Structure as it does helping them develop the enhancement of their writing using good vocabulary. To descibe it I would say they direct them in descriptive writing like a good author would use. So basically the two put together it is good.
