We used our first TLP unit the first 8 weeks of school. My 6th grader did HOBBIT and really enjoyed it. The writing assignments have various choices, he did 3/ 2-3 page writing assignments during the 8 weeks and other types of writing too. There are several project ideas with each section.
My 3rd grader did "Charlottes Web" and enjoyed that too. The grammar was a bit too hard for him though since he hadn't studied prepositions in depth.
Now we're back to 8 weeks of Shurley English before we pick up "My side of the MOuntain" and Pipi Longstockings in the Spring.
