I loved doing Weaver. The units are based on a book or books of scripture and science and history relate to that. For instance, when God floods the earth, you study weather, the water cycle, etc. When people build the tower of Babel, you study languages and different cultures. My children became concept-learners. It is set up with many choices for learning about a certain topic, you basically need to prepare by getting books out of the library or ordering ahead of time. Then if you are busy they have resources available.
There is also a grammar program with it, Wisdom Words, that was helpful. I found I needed something with more repetition to help them really practice a skill, so I eventually did a year of BJU Grammar.
By the way, Weaver is set up for K - 6th, but there is a supplement that you buy for High Schoolers. I hope this helps :)
