We own it and did use it. There is not a definitive schedule for the child. If your child is fairly independent they could surely go through it. It does require extra resources,most are available and affordable, there are some that I could not find.
We used it one year and also Blessed is the Man, one year. We switched to Tapestry of Grace afterwards so that we could do more school altogether as I had younger children.
