Christian Cottage Unit Studies in the past (Volume 4). It is set up to use with K-12 - there are just different activities to do with the various levels. For your 9th grader, you will probably want to get a history and science spine (or good books from the library to more fully cover the topics for the year). You can download an Oceanography unit from their web site for free to see if it might work for you. It would be worth a try.

I have looked at Tapestry of Grace in the past as well, and it is also set up for K-12. I think you can also get sample lessons from their web site. As I recall, it has more activities to choose from, and it might be a little "meatier" coverage of history and science for the high school years than Christian Cottage - at least that is the impression I got.
