It's great that your work allows you to take the girls along. I can take mine too but I don't have bounce houses and slides to contend with. :)
We used MFW ECC this year (I have a 9yo and 7yo). We loved it. They have said that it is their favorite part of our school day (We do our own math and lang. arts that were not the recommended choices from MFW.) One of the main selling points for us is the multi-level teaching.
Prep work is not too difficult. The teacher's book tells you exactly what you need to do each week (like art and/or science experiment supplies.) If you have a day to do all your copying at the beginning of the year, that will save you some time down the road. I just look at the weekly grid each evening and pull the next day's books off the bookshelf. Then we just go right down the list of activities and readings. On your daytime work day, you might want to simplify the scheduled items or shift them to another day to make your work day easier. Fridays are always a lighter day which helps us 'catch up' on busier weeks. The only other prep you'll need to do is hit the library about every 2 weeks to get supplemental books for the book basket. But they are NOT required so it would be up to you and how much time you have. MFW has been wonderful for us this year---the curriculum is written from a Christian perspective and loaded with info, but not overwhelming. I hope that helps. Feel free to email me if you have more questions.
