... That sounds like my baby steps list. I decided that it would be
more reasonable to change things about my lifestyle one at a time,
so a long time ago, I started a list. I start with the first item, then
go on to the next only after the previous one is a habit for me. If I
have too many new things to remember, I will give up because it is
too complicated.

The first thing on the list is, "Use olive oil only."

I stopped using other oils. Now, good health is about more than
just losing weight, so other good things are in there, too. The
second thing is drink a glass of water mid morning. Then the the
third is to drink a glass of water in the afternoon, too.

Once those were good habits, then I added something like, "Eat a
piece of fruit with breakfast--eat it before anything else.

I continued on, adding things like, "drink a cup of green tea with
breakfast," "eat 2 servings of vegetables with lunch," "eat brown
rice only--no white," etc. I added calcium supplements to it at
some point, and any other healthful things. I increased the number
of fruits and vegetables every few days.

It really is very helpful. Now and then I will slide back a few items,
but I try to get back to the list as soon as I realize it.

The key is not moving to the next item until the previous things are
done daily without having to think about it.

It really makes eating well easy because I have fewer choices to
make!

I hope this is helpful to you.

BTW, I feel the same way when I am sore after exercising, so I
decided to exercise anyway! I try to notice the sore muscles and
think about how feeling them like that means I have really been
using them. I think about how I want them to get stronger. I try to
make it a positive thing.

I have decided that exercise must happen without thought or
question or I will talk myself out of it. I simply do not allow any
"self talk" or thinking about whether or not to erxercise.

If I am truly sick, then I do not exercise, but there are precious few
things that I allow to interrupt my routine once I get started. I am
just getting started again and hope to not get derailed again!

Hugs,

Mary
