I sold a microscope and wrapped it in bubblewrap, filed the box with peanuts and shipped. The post office marked it fragile and I insured. The person who purchased did not opt to add insurance but who would mail a fragile $100 item without protecting themselves. 1st she asked me to wait until the 1st so I did then she mailed a check so I waited 5 days for that to clear then I shipped. Then she sent me a snappy email wanting to know where it was, then when I let her know what was going on (Veteran Holiday delay) I didn't hear anything for a few days. Then I get a snappy email stating that she knew I INSURED IT and that the box was open on one side, the eyepiece was off, there where peanuts in the eyepiece...., She asked me to send her the insurance ticket by email so we did and now she wants a refund and ship me back the item. I have told her I would take back, file a claim with the post office, and refund the amount the post office gives me less my shipping and insurance cost of $11.26. Should I have handled this any differently? What should I do? I have never had this happen and I feel like she blames me for whatever happened in shipment. Please help me. Thank you, Paula
