I believe you are in a good place. Deaf kids are very visual and
normally think in pictures. A lot of Deaf kids struggle with
English...but I believe if he LOVES to read, the English will come at
his own pace. Especially if he is understanding what he is reading,
and it is not just 'words" over his head.

Where are you, not being nosey. Just a round-about-area. There
must be some Deaf support groups (maybe for the Parents..then
you will find the Deaf kids) somewhere around.

Even if they are not Homeschooler's often the kids are around at
these support groups. You cannot imagine how good it would be
for his self esteem to know / meet other Deaf kids. Other (Hearing)
kids as well as Adults often view Deafness much differently than
Deaf kids do, once they are together, they will find a way to
communicate / play with each other that their Deafness just falls
away! There is a LOT of strength in the Deaf Community...you just
have to find them!!!

Blessings,

Sunshine
