| | Subject: | Anyone use public school for therapy? | |

We live in SC and have always homeschooled our boys, who are 12 and 10. My daughter is five and has very involved developmental delays. She is nonverbal, doesn't walk and is low funtioning in occupational areas. She has been in private therapy since she was 6 months old. We have taken the past year off after losing medicaid. My husbands insurance only covers part of her therapy and with gas prices we just can't afford it. I have applied for disability for her and am in the process of trying to get Katie Beckett medicaid (medicaid for disabled children, which is not based on parent's income). We are considering putting her in school therapy this fall. We don't want her there for full days, but she has to be back in therapy. The break has been good for all of us these past months. Since she was a baby her whole life has revolved around her disabilities and it's been good just enjoying her, but it's time to get back to therapy. I'm just wondering if anyone else has used school therapy? If so how did it work out for your family?
