The Crew is not scheduled to go to Philmont, but my son's troop is. They are leaving the last week of June. They have been taking a lot of practice hikes and have been looking at different packs and equipment. One of the dads in the troop actually MADE his own pack and tent. Awesome!

The Crew is doing fantastic. We have grown from 5 in November of 2006 to over 20 youth. We went to Gatlinburg last weekend to Winterfest and carried 30 youth and 12 adults from 5 Crews. My daughter got a 3rd place award for bouldering, one of the other crews got 1st place for Orienteering, and another crew got 3rd place for Engineering.

We're hoping to go to Seabase, hopefully in 2009. We have trouble getting a female leader to commit to some of the high adventure things (such as Philmont), but most are willing to commit to Seabase.
