There are lots of ways to work at home; figuring out how to make it support you completely is another matter. Don't get suckered by an MLM (multilayered marketing) setup in which you can actually lose money. what are you going to school to train for? is it something you'll be able to do soon? are you in a fairly well-off area where people have money, but no time? if so, you might be able to do personal service business - driving people's kids around, a shopping service, etc. you might be able to do tutoring. you could try freelance copywriting or editing. you could try to get into medical billing/transcription, though truthfully much of that work has already gone to India. you could open a childcare center. depending on your space available and the requirements in your area, it actually could benefit you to get licensed, because you could charge accordingly. food businesses are dicey because of the health regulations but lots of people have done well with specialty food items. whatever you do needs to do more than just barely make your bills; you need enough to cover taxes, insurance, medical coverage, "rainy day" money, and retirement. So, figure out what you need to live monthly, add around 40-50% to that, and you have what you need to just about get by. You actually need double your monthly expenses if you're going to have enough for all those hidden expenses I mentioned.
