NO! you are not a bad mother. You did EXACTLY the right thing. If your son cannot homeschool and take responsibility for his learning than steps must be taken. The idea that he is going to give you an ultimatum is ridiculous. You handled the situation perfectly. I suggest you stick to your guns on the homework and in the meantime write up, with your son, an educational agreement. He has to fulfull it or consequences will ensue, i.e. first time grounding, second time, removal of X items and the third time he can go to public school (hated as that option may be to you). But going to live with his father because he won't take responsibility is NOT an option. You're doing a great job. Keep it up. Melissa
