I suggest you stick to your guns on the homework and in the meantime write up, with your son, an educational agreement. He has to fulfull it or consequences will ensue, i.e. first time grounding, second time, removal of X items and the third time he can go to public school (hated as that option may be to you). But going to live with his father because he won't take responsibility is NOT an option.

You're doing a great job. Keep it up.
