Hi HoosierMedic, I grew up near Evansville but have been in SC for hmmm... 22 years!

This is my 10th year of homeschooling, the 8th as a single parent. My dh walked out, visited regularly the first 2 years, became sporadic the 3rd year, dropped completely off the radar for the next 2 years, showed up in prison wanting a divorce for 2 years, got the divorce and got out last summer, wanted to re-connect with our 2 teens, announced he was marrying his longtime girlfriend and hoped the kids would participate (they refused), and things have been a rollercoaster ride ever since. I feel blessed to have been able to homeschool all these years, because I wasn't sure I could or should when dh first left.

I made a living by typing and typesetting from home, and eventually a writing and proofreading job fell into my lap, which I'm also able to do at home. God has been so good to us. Our church has been good to us. Life is often stressful and overwhelming, but I'm a survivor! I love my kids!
