Once again our schedules didn't quite mesh. I'm really going to meet her in person one of these days!
I went to Gatlinburg with my daughter's Venturing Crew for Winterfest over the weekend. It was a GREAT experience. Savannah got to ski for the first time in her life and see snow for the first time she can remember.
One of the events at the Venturing Conference was what they called "Cave Crawl Challenge". They had a "squeeze box" that simulated the caving experience by adjusting the walls down to very small sized crawl spaces. They were able to adjust it down by 1/4 inch increments at a time until it was too small for anyone to crawl through it.
Savannah set a new record by being the first one to make it through a 5-3/4 inch high space. Two other kids made it through right after her. The guy who built the box and ran the event said he'd never had the box go that small before. She got a nice plaque for us to hang on our wall. She has skid marks on the sides of her face from squeezing through that small space!
It was great getting away from work and school for a while, but it's back to the old grind this week. Hope everyone is having a good January!
Blessings!
Priscilla
