I can imagine what I would like for an unrealistic dream gift...time off with my children. I'd love to be able to work from home and be with my children while they are still relatively small. I have the skills to teach birth classes, and also to do web master work, but have not been able to put it into a career yet.

I think for a realistic gift I'd like a good house cleaning that I don't have to do. It seems that cleaning the house is the LAST thing on any of our lists here and we only clean frantically when we are expecting company. Or...maybe I wouldn't have to have it cleaned...I could wish for time to do it myself...

God has blessed us tremendously. I talked with the children earlier this year about Christmas and explained to them that we couldn't do Christmas AND scout trips, and they all heartily agreed that they wanted the scout trips. Nathaniel is going to swim with the manatees in February, Savannah is going snow skiing in January, and the little girls are hoping to go ice skating.

We feel so blessed to be together and that we are all in good health and in the home we love. We do not feel sad about not having a "normal" Christmas at all. The children are cheerfully making the sacrifice, and I know that they will appreciate the trips much more considering what has gone into them. We are also blessed to be in troops that allow the children to work for credits towards trips like these.

We are planning to go to a friend's house on Christmas afternoon so the children can play together, then we will have the same family over on New Year's Day for a turkey dinner with friends and family. I expect this to be one of our best holidays yet. :-)

Blessings!
Priscilla
