My kids were 4 and 2 when my xh left us, and the first thing I did was finally get back in school. The hard part to ballance is the $, not the schooling though. =) I do as many of my credits as possible via independent study or distance learning programs. I do have to attend regular classes as well, though. When I'm actually in class the kids go to a sitter. Occasionally a sitter has asked for some kind of assignments (when they attend the local after school program, for instance) and I send something comparible to what the other kids have. At these young ages you don't really need to "do school" with them much, though. Your only real worry is meeting state regs. I'd be happy to help you figure out how to make it all work. I know it can be overwhelming. Mine are 5 and about to turn 8, now, and I'm still in school (an honor student at that) with almost no local support and we're going strong. In leiu of having my email harvested from the site, I included a link to my company's web site. If you use the "contact us" web form, I will be the one to receive your email. Anyone else with similar concerns is welcome to contact me, as well. In my area, I'm the one homeschool moms get refered to when they become single moms. =)
