Life continues to be very hectic. xdh visits the children about once a week or two weeks. Ds lost his 4-hours-a-week therapist and is regressing. The children's home that accepted him but were waiting for cottage parents said they had staffing issues and couldn't take teen boys now after all. The defiance and argumentativeness rages on, and he hates taking his meds, doing his schoolwork, and doing any chores. Meanwhile, dd is a blessing. She makes herself a chore list and a school list and marks each thing off as it gets done. She does more than her share of the work around here most days. She thrives when her brother is in trouble... We're transitioning to 9th grade. I haven't decided what to do for math or English yet. I have Apologia Science and an eclectic mix for history - world history + the US Constitution. We've also got a collection of Spanish materials, martial arts for p.e. (if I find a class) in addition to 2 cardio workout DVDs, and music class for an elective. I think we're going to be busy! But we're doing fewer outside activities this year so we can focus on academics.
