Hello all, my name is Connie. I have been homeschooling my children for 3 1/2 years now. My husband and I are seperated and have been for 4 years now. There is nothing legal that has been done & he still comes around and helps with the kids on nights that I work, but he is really not at all involved in homeschooling. I am a member of our local homeschool support group, which is christian based. I love most of the people & what we stand for as a whole, but I am really feeling judged and as if there is not as much for the single parent families to be involved in. I have even felt some of that in our homeschool co-op this past year, which came as a HUGE shock to me. I was wondering if any of you deal with that type of judgement or people that have preconcieved notions that you must be some awful person or less worthy of their time if you are single? I have brought up that I would like to help to create some sort of stronger support within our group for the single parent families, but as single parents, we all know how tight our time is and it appears as if the married couples, either just don't think that they can offer support or that they just don't want to. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to coming here more often and who knows, maybe there is support lurking around the corner that I don't know about. Thanks and many blessings to all! In HIS grace, Connie (NC)
