Well, I work from home, writing and proofreading in the evenings, so we have a "normal" daytime schedule.

Get up, get breakfast, get going with schoolwork or chores. I have 2 subjects on the kids' computer, so while one works on the computer, the other does bookwork or chores, and then they switch. Both are 8th graders, but my dd is better about planning her day and going down the list. She has a goal - playing outside or playing computer games - and she works toward achieving the goal. It's great! She chooses chores that really need doing.

My son, on the other hand, piddles around, sneaks games and leisure books during the day, locks himself in the bathroom for long periods of time, and takes till nightfall to finish his stuff -- often not finishing his chores at all. I've kept him out of Boy Scout camping since Jan. and he hates to miss, but he still hasn't mended his ways.
