first off, did the judge tell you you cannot homeschool, period, or that you are not going to be awarded enough support not to have to work? those are entirely different issues. It is the general expectation in this day and age that upon divorce moms have to earn money. That's within the judge's purview. So if you have to earn money, start looking for night work or work-at-home gigs that will earn a living without having to leave your kids alone in the house (at 7 and 8, they're too young for that). IF the deal is that your ex is fundamentally opposed to homeschooling, you two have joint custody and thus joint decision-making, and in this the judge is siding with your husband - even though hoemschooling is legal and a parents' right, unless you have sole custody, you may not have sole authority over the kids' education. Ask for mediation through the court, and see if that is helpful.
