I am a former homeschooling parent. After my divorce I had to join the work force and enrolled my kids in public school. Also, since I last homeschooled, I have two more children, one of which is special needs. Last year, I got laid off so I, myself, have enrolled in college as a full-time student. I have become increasingly dissatisfied with the public school system, however, and would love to be able to homeschool again but am I even being realistic? How do you all do it? How can I maintain my GPA, take care of a household and homeschool a special needs child, another just diagnosed with ADHD, and my oldest entering high school? I don't think I could teach high school math or science. I know there are many reputable online curriculums available now but I can't afford Internet nor do I have a home computer. Also, I myself would like to be at least bilingual by the time I get my degree. I want to know Spanish and possibly freshen up on the French I know. Rosetta Stone has been highly recommended but how realistic is it of me to try teaching myself a foreign language on top of everything else I mentioned above? Are any of you familiar with this curriculum? Would you recommend it? Were you successful with it? Will it work for me without having a computer or Internet? I would appreciate any advice or suggestions anyone might have for me and thank you for your time.
