I have the same difficulty as you. My kids are 12 and 8, and I work 2 or 3 days a week. The story is the same with my mother, my son (12) is ADHD and she has great difficulty with him. He is also at the start of adolscence and pushes limits constantly. I have a plan for the next school year, I am moving to a small house that is around the block from my mother, and the kids can go over there for breakfast and then head home to do their lessons. She is close enough that if there is a problem, she could come to my home or they could run to hers. Maybe you could arrange that for your kids, like drop them off and then she could take them back and they could do their lessons. You could begin to train them to be alone by leaving them for shorter periods of time and have someone to see how the eldest handles the responsibility.
