How old are your kids? Can you work a night shift and do school during the day? There is a lot to this. Yes you can just give the kids a pile of self paced workbooks to go through on their own. But for me the whole point of hs was to be more hands on with them and give them more attention than they got in school, not have them raise and educate themselves as best they could figure out. I freelance from home doing technical and medical ghostwriting and I pick up weekend nursing shifts,and some night shifts. It means I don't get much sleep and zero time off. But that is the tradeoff. It means my kids have me all day and my paid working day starts after they go to bed. It's working so far.
