All that Brenda said, and in addition, if your dd is not conventionally school- and book-minded, it is time NOW to begin career planning so that after her GED she can hit the ground running with training for a job that will pay her enough to support herself and any children she chooses to have - as there is a high likelihood she will need to do that at some point or other. Most jobs that require only a GED either pay bupkis, or are in industries that may well go under tomorrow. She'll need a certification in something - HVAC, plumbing, auto repair, culinary school, something.
