A high school diploma is not mandatory or necessary to get a good job or attend a good college. We have home schooled all three of our children and our oldest child is now attending a tier-one college on the full academic scholarship. The private college costs about $37,000 a year and she pays only about $3,000 a year plus books. We have kept records and issued our own high school transcripts which 95% of the better colleges had no problem accepting. Our daughter did have the SAT scores to back up her high GPA. I own a company and would hire home schooled people before I hired traditional school students as I know that the home schooled can be independent learners and not require constant supervision.
