We are using CTT this year for 5th grade and for the most part we are liking it very much. The author does occasionally have some bias that he inserts, but overall it encourages the child to make his or her own judgements about a topic. That's the primary reason I chose it. We are using the creative writing course, the course titled 'you or them', the intro to research course and 'information, right or wrong'. I also purchased the science curriculum, but we probably won't use it. After awhile it is too much text reading and not enough creativity/hands-on. For an eclectic homeschooler this is an excellent adjunct curriculum as you can pick the pieces you like.

Some of the electives look very worthwhile, too. But I have a hard time sinking all of my eggs into one basket, so we're only using parts.

The daily journal that is offered is excellent and I believe you can download it for free to try out CTT. We used it for several weeks and learned a bunch!

Best wishes.
