I'm not familiar with Apologia but for middle school science we have relied heavily on the Science Explorer series from Prentice Hall, supplemented with extra labs from the How....Works series from Reader's Digest. I've used these two resources combined for a few years now (due to multiple ages) and I can honestly say that science is one of my kids' favorite subjects. You only need the teacher's editions if you are weak in the topic area, otherwise I do without. Gina www.secularcm.com
