Hi Sandie -
There is an East TN secular group which schedules a lot of their events in Knoxville. They have an email list on a very popular groups list, but I can't post it here. You may email me if you aren't sure which list I'm talking about. I was on the email list for a while, but most of the events were for little ones, and what was for older kids (my dd is in 10th grade) was at a bad time of day for us. They usually met at places like Fort Kidd (across from the Art Museum) and at the Riverwalk. I think they also started doing a once a week or once a month thing at the Unitarian church near UT. I think they got a few field trips together as well. I haven't been on the list for a few months (I believe the last thing I saw them planning was an Easter egg hunt), but if you get involved in it and make plans, others will probably show up.
