Heard of Singapore Math? They have science books that I've used for the high school level. I've heard wonderful things about their interactive science for the middle grades too. The approach that I've taken though is to throw my own program together using the Reader Digest books, such as How the Weather Works, or How Nature Works, or How Science Works....nice secular books with experiments. I've also used Janice VanCleave experiment books to help out.
