I used PAC English for my daughter in her 10th grade year and we both loved it. She learned more than in public school about grammar and as a bonus, each vignette integrates a little history. The stories are engaging and often teach a moral much like the stories in aesops fables do. There are life quotes at the end of each lesson too that my daughter was able to remember and appreciate. We found the lessons to be long enough or short enough depending how you look at it. It's not so lengthy that it drives a kid and parent mad. Even with writing assignments, my daughter never felt over worked. The writing assignments allow your child to apply what they've learned and as they progress the writing goes a step up. There are grading rubrics for the parent to make grading easy. I would say the pac curriculum got right to the point while keeping it interesting and avoiding having the child feel over loaded. I love it and will use it for my other children. My daughter turned out to be an impressive writer (even I was a bit envious) and always got A's for her writing when she went back to public school.
