We started with 8/7 and saw it was just a review of all previous math....we did do some of the new stuff--negative numbers and such. We moved on to Alg 1/2 which I would recommend before Alg 1. My dd has always been an "A" student in math; skipping the majority of 8/7 was not a big deal. I would say that if your student has a great comprehension of math facts and is really good, skip the 8/7 and move on to Alg 1/2. sharon :)
