Uncle Eric's book, "Are you Liberal? Conservative? or Confused?" Get the study guide, "Political Philosophies" to enhance learning.
Take advantage of this being an election year - all kinds of things you can do! Online materials, volunteering, community events, etc.
If you want to do double duty and earn college credit, get the REA study guide for the US Government CLEP test. After finishing the course material above, use the REA book to review and prepare for the CLEP. (We spent about 3 weeks on it.) Take the test, and viola! High school AND college credits!
Extra hint: if your student has recently studied American History through Reconstruction, have them take the US History 1 CLEP. Then do the Government. (or vice versa) There is a lot of overlap on these 2 CLEPS. Even more college credits ;-)
