After lots of research, we wound up using Tapestry
of Grace.
which covers 20th century. World History The Easy
Way and American History the Easy Way are the
closest I found. A couple of veteran hs'ers
forwarded their plans using these books plus movies,
lit, etc. I'd be happy to send it to you.
