there is a great book around, softcover, kind of like a workbook, called Learning to Learn. I lvoed it. It teaches kids how to STUDY, not just run their eyes over the page. How to use underlining and notetaking effectively. Time management. How to read a chapter with an eye to getting the main points. How to figure out what's important, what's just details. How to approach learning math, which few course do - most study guides just figure you get math or you don't; this book teaches you how to become one of the folks who gets it. It is probably on Amazon, and it's well worth it.
