Hi, I also wasn't crazy about Apologia for my daughter who's going into 8th grade. So, after lots of research, we picked God's Design for the Physical World by Answers in Genesis (their newest revised edition). I let her choose between Apologia and AIG. We just received the books this week and they look great! With great experiments, clear explanations, easy to use, I'm really looking forward to science this year. HTH, Jen
