Hi there,

I have been using A Beka since my son was 3. We are now wrapping up the K5 school year. I am a former pubic school teacher, and I LOVE A Beka...the curriculum is cheerful and well-organized.

I have bought EVERYTHING used. No, there is hardly any difference in updating with regards to the readers...usually all that is updated are the illustrations in the book and the front cover. I have compared side by side the older versions with the new, and even page by page, I see no difference, other than what I stated above. There have been some books retired and replaced with new titles. But most of the time, using an older version of the same title that is currently being used works out fine. I have found great deals in thrift stores, the used section of teaching stores, this website, and eBay. The only thing I do buy new from A Beka are the workbooks, because I want those to be current, and also to be sure that all the pages are present and have not been written on.

I hope this info was helpful!

:) Lisa
