We used the older version of MUS for 1-2nd grades. It's definately basic and no fluff. The old version covers about 1-3rd grade level all in one book but the new version covers one level at a time and only one concept basically the entire year. I got bored with so much repetition myself and felt that there wasn't enough other stuff included (such as measurements, telling time, etc) it seems a little behind compared to PS so if you plan to put her back in next year you may want to consider something else. You can go to their website and do a placement test and see what the scope and sequence is. I know most 3rd grade public schoolers in this area are doing multi digit multiplication and long division by the end of the year and MUS does not teach that until later on. FOr 3rd grade we used BOB Jones and I enjoyed it. We did not use all the extras, someone gave me the TE and I just purchased a student edition. Actually we did SOS math for 3rd grade part of the year and I felt like it was very behind the PS. SO we played catch up with the BJU. MUS is a great curric but as I said may not be what you need if going back into the ps system and wanting to be "up to par"
